Nepali New Year 2071 was celebrated by Lethbridge Canadian Bhutanese Society. On April 13th 2014 in a sombre gathering in Lethbridge Senior Citizens Organization hall about 150 plus CBS members were present. The program started by paying last respect to three community member’s demises which occurred in the past week. Two minute silence was observed to the departed soul to rest in peace following the National anthem of Canada. Cultural programs like (Bhajan) religious hymns, Religious dances by children and other cultural programs were performed. Most of the program was focused towards acknowledgement of Seniors wishing a long life and prosperous New Year ahead. Snacks, sweets and tea was served to all the members present.
The program was wrapped up by 3pm. The Organizations would like to thank all its volunteers helping the seniors as well as management of the event.
