Canadian Bhutanese Society celebrated their annual Dashain Festival at Lethbridge Seniors Citizens Gym. on the 27th of October 2012. It was attended by more than three hundred members from the Community. It started with a feast of ethnic food while greeting each other with Dashain wishes. Many volunteers presented their talents of singing, dancing, Bhajans as well as stand-up comedy which was enjoyed by everyone.
This celebration also was combined with honoring of various organization who have provided outstanding contribution and support to the Bhutanese Community in Lethbridge. They were Lethbridge Family Services, Immigant Services, Flexibility Learning Systems, Lethbridge College English Language Center, Sunrise Poultry Processors, Maple Leaf Pork and River of Life, Community Church. Bhutanese Community is very thankful for their continued support to help resettle, educate and provide employment opportunities. The evening wrapped up with honoring of certificates of Appreciation to the Organizational Heads and their representatives. Canadian Bhutanese Society would like to thank all the volunteers for their tremendous contribution to make this event successful.
